freshly laid

We visited our friends Nicky and Richard yesterday and met their lovely new baby Thomas.  We usually receive a warm, slobbery welcome from their 3 dogs but they howled a hello instead from their kennel in the garden.  Little Harry, their newest addition to the family before Thomas the usurper came along, bounced up and down extra specially hard to be sure we’d notice him.

Anyway we had a lovely evening but you’re probably wondering where the sowing, growing or cooking connection is?  We went bearing gifts from the allotment (cabbage and courgette) and left with freshly laid eggs.  Inspector Mikey has confirmed their superior grade and quality this morning.
