autumn elevenses

Still snacking on raspberries, runner beans, dwarf beans and rocket to fuel me through to the next tea break.  We’ve had no rain in Gloucester for two weeks and it’s amazing how little water plants such as these need to keep producing.

the beans are at the end of their growing season so will get pulled out just as soon as I can get a fork in the ground!

Hi, we are also enjoying the Indian summer and the extra produce it is bringing. Our beans are still producing though a little slower, when do you decide to pull them out ?

I was going to say when there are no beans left and I get round to it. Then today I spotted one of the plants in the yard has new flowers on and a few teeny pods. Unbelievable as it hasn’t been watered in 3 weeks and the last bean was picked over a month ago. So I may just leave the allotment beans in and see what happens (and give them a good water :o)
