a helping hand

This is the biggest strawberry in the world‘ said Rosy before licking it, giggling and dropping it in the box.  She seemed surprised when I said she could eat it; well if licking is not 9/10ths of the law it should be!  And Rosy had certainly earned first dibs on the days takings for lending a helping hand on Aunty Nic’s allotment.

Those are just lovely photos Nic. I hope Cooper will be as keen a helper once he is old enough.

Sweet baby! I’ll bet she enjoyed eating those strawberries!

She is a beautiful little lady and is delighted to help for payment in kind! Kids are always amazed to see things growing that they can pick and eat immediately!

Bilbo – Rosy’s been well trained from a very young age by her Aunty Emily who also has an allotment. So unlike most 4 year olds when you point at something saying ‘and do you know what this is?’ she nods and gives the correct answer. She’s ace 🙂

Jac – I’m sure he will. I bet he does his own fair share of licking when you’re baking up one of your lovely creations!

Tom – absolutely. She’s so ace at sharing though and made sure there were enough for her mum and little sister

Peggy – they’re a wonderful reminder of how taking time and having fun in the garden is as important as all the toiling. I know you benefit from lots of lovely young helpers on your plot )

What a lovely post! Looking forward to introducing Daisy to your allotment when she’s a little bigger! x

    Oh she’s just lovely!

As is your allotment…where, oh where are the weeds? Oh that’s right, they are all in my plot. And then some.

And finally a fab spirally path made with mosaic stepping stones using recycled materials like bottle tops, buttons and straws (from a show garden @bbcgwlive on 2005) #nipitinthebudblog #gloucesterlife #gardenersworldlive #mosaicsteppingstones #mosaicart Beautiful show garden from @bbcgwlive 2005. Wouldn't this make a fab addition to your allotment! Link in bio for more pictures
#nipitinthebudblog #gloucesterlife #allotmentgardening #paintedtyregardenplanters #paintedtyres #gardenersworldlive These fab painted tyre planters were part of a show garden at @bbcgwlive in 2005. They're teaching me a thing or too about blog traffic as I try to get my head around SEO and why some posts have lots of hits and some have none. 2826 people have searched for painted tyres since I shared it in 2011 as a #wordlesswednesday post. I've now added in some copy about the day and some of the other photos. Just shows that adding useful titles to your images can be as helpful as writing relevant copy!
