a helping hand

This is the biggest strawberry in the world‘ said Rosy before licking it, giggling and dropping it in the box.  She seemed surprised when I said she could eat it; well if licking is not 9/10ths of the law it should be!  And Rosy had certainly earned first dibs on the days takings for lending a helping hand on Aunty Nic’s allotment.

Those are just lovely photos Nic. I hope Cooper will be as keen a helper once he is old enough.

She is a beautiful little lady and is delighted to help for payment in kind! Kids are always amazed to see things growing that they can pick and eat immediately!

Bilbo – Rosy’s been well trained from a very young age by her Aunty Emily who also has an allotment. So unlike most 4 year olds when you point at something saying ‘and do you know what this is?’ she nods and gives the correct answer. She’s ace 🙂

Jac – I’m sure he will. I bet he does his own fair share of licking when you’re baking up one of your lovely creations!

Tom – absolutely. She’s so ace at sharing though and made sure there were enough for her mum and little sister

Peggy – they’re a wonderful reminder of how taking time and having fun in the garden is as important as all the toiling. I know you benefit from lots of lovely young helpers on your plot )

    Oh she’s just lovely!

As is your allotment…where, oh where are the weeds? Oh that’s right, they are all in my plot. And then some.

I love how an ordinary moment frozen in time by the camera can actually reveal so much. Luca is all about inhabiting his body and jumping, running and climbing. Euan is all about the quirkiness, curiosity and inventions. There's more about these best friend brothers on the blog in this month's #siblingsproject post #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog
This little one is negotiating hard to get out of food shopping with me. Even saying that poor Daddy will be hungry if we don't restock the fridge isn't working. Apparently Daddy will be fine eating a wooden mushroom while L watches telly! #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog #toddlerantics💜
#mischiefmakers #summerreadingchallenge starts today - you can find out more at your local library. E was excited to sign up and work towards earning his medal. There are some great activities taking place in Gloucestershire libraries this summer. #welovereadingbooks #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog

I love finding pictures on my phone I'd forgotten about that remind me of a really special time with my boys (the Project Pilgrim celebration at @GlosCathedral a couple of weeks ago) #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog
Love this kids creativity - there's only so many times you can tolerate your little brother interrupting your game of giant Connect 4 after all! #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog
L fell asleep in the car today and stayed asleep when I got him out. I took this picture thinking I'd savour the moment and then wake him so that bedtime wouldn't be messy but just look at that face, I couldn't. So I enjoyed the cuddle instead and he's now snoring blissfully beside me again. Trust your baby, he knows what he needs 😴 #gloucesterlife #nipitinthebudblog
