international babywearing week, 8-14th Oct 2012

What’s not to love about wearing your baby close to you while leaving you hands free?  I’ve enjoyed carrying E in a Moby wrap from a week old and continue to do so at 8.5 months for short bursts to the shops or park (he’s rather heavy now but tie it right and it’s a great back reliever to the usual mum position of sat on one hip).  Just this week we attended a baby sign group where we went for a toddle with babies in slings to point to and sign buses and lorries, birds and trees.  I’m a firm believer that wearing your baby close helps little ones feel happy, secure and confident.  And boy do they nap well.

E in sling L-R clockwise:  aged 21 days, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months old

Entry filed under: away from the plot.

Oh my – isn’t he just adorable.

I loved doing this with all mine – from front to back before they got too big.

I’m a keen babywearer too! I use a mei tai for longer stretches like walks in the country and a ring-sling for short trips out. Any excuse for extra cuddles!

cripes Kate, that’s some pretty massive news I missed! Welcome back to Blighty and enjoy those cuddles as long as you can. My little one is loving crawling and climbing so much now I have to practically wrestle him down for a cuddle! (which he finds hilarious of course!)

#gloucesterlife It snowed all day and we were indoors with poorly boys (they had a 15 minute play in the yard at least). This is what the allotment is probably looking like (#onefromthearchives January 2013). #nipitinthebudblog #snowyallotment #allotmentgardening #newblogpost - an @oxouk stocking fillers gift guide . We've decided to book the community hall at our local cafe like we did a few years ago. His 3rd birthday cake and jungle themed food will be a hard act to follow and he's chosen Dr Seuss for his theme so goodness knows what sort of cake we'll pull out the bag for this one! #birthdaycake #birthdaypartyfood #nipitinthebudblog #willywonkacake Rather intrigued by these!!!! @Regranned from @marksandspencer - Introducing the avocado you never knew you needed. Our new cocktail avocados don’t have a stone and are completely edible (yes including the skin) In stores now in limited supply. 🥑🥑🥑 - #regrann
