me and mine {March family portrait}

10-3-2013 - me and mine March 1 4BWhat a month it’s been, most notably for the copious amounts of snot fall!  We were happy to spend time indoors through the freezing cold snap and snow showers as we suffered the grip of a major snotfest and chesty coughs.  E had just bought the lurgy into the house when this photo was taken on Mother’s Day and it stayed with us for several weeks.  Just as E’s top lip finally began to dry out G fell ill and we all got chest infections.  What a test of our metal that was – there really is nothing more grim than both parents being ill at the same time.10-3-2013 - me and mine March 2 4B

Being dangled upside down when you’re sinuses are stuffy comes highly recommended by E, especially when accompanied by a tummy tickle.  What a trooper he was – still smiling most days inspite of feeling so grotty.

    Oh no, horrible when both parents are ill at the same time, let alone the children! This really has been the ‘winter of long-lasting illnesses’ for a lot of families.

    It’s a constant stream in our house too!

  • […] This time last year E had a cold for weeks.  This month it was my turn with a lingering cough that turned into a stuffy nose post swim!  I seem to have shaken it off faster than all other colds in the last 2 years – proof that unbroken sleep really is the best medicine now E no longer wakes at night (hoorah). #nipitinthebudblog #gloucesterlife #allotmentgardening #paintedtyregardenplanters #paintedtyres #gardenersworldlive These fab painted tyre planters were part of a show garden at @bbcgwlive in 2005. They're teaching me a thing or too about blog traffic as I try to get my head around SEO and why some posts have lots of hits and some have none. 2826 people have searched for painted tyres since I shared it in 2011 as a #wordlesswednesday post. I've now added in some copy about the day and some of the other photos. Just shows that adding useful titles to your images can be as helpful as writing relevant copy!
