If I never see you again
I will always carry you
inside
outside

on my fingertips
and at brain edges

and in centers
centers
of what I am
of what remains

(Charles Bukowski 1920-1994, from ‘letter to Katherine’)
17-1-13 - reading with Granny 1 4B
My Nan Winnie has been a big part of my life.  Euan and I are about the same age in these two photographs  – me on her knee 37 years ago and E reading stories with Grannan more recently.  I shall be forever thankful that he had the privilege of knowing her.  She passed away this morning, peacefully with her family around her.
Love always Nan, Granny, Mum, Winnie x x x

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together…  there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart…  I’ll always be with you.” – Winnie the Pooh

My dear girl, I am so very sorry. What a blessing however, that Winnie passed away quietly and with dignity surrounded by love.

Although dearest E. won’t remember her when he grows up, the joy he must have given to Winnie is incalculable.

I’m sitting quietly under a tree in the garden (am I the last person in the world to learn that Wi-Fi works outdoors?), taking it easy with Daisy by my side. Slowly starting to feel less exhausted, less wiped out; will endeavour to get in touch properly soon. Thank E. for his wonderful email last week … the boy has a wonderful turn of phrase and such a deep, kind heart. Aunty B. xxxx
