me and mine {July family portrait}

What a contrast to Junes Me and Mine, marked by so many rainy highlights.
July’s heatwave was a most welcome surprise as a family holiday is not on the cards for us this year.  Just a squirt of suncream conjures up relaxing holiday mojo for me and our daily strolls to the park with E have left us looking quite sunkissed. 13-7-13 - Stratford_us 3 and Zac 4B

This month’s ‘Me and Mine’ is from a lovely day out in Stratford with E’s cousin Zac, Uncle Jim and Aunty Nat.  Remember that scorching hot Saturday with temps in the 30s?  Yes it was that one!  The cooling shade from an enormous tree on the river bank and a Mr Whippy ice cream made the heat a whole lot more bearable.  It was a long slow walk from our tree to the ice-cream van with E stopping to say ‘hiya‘ to anyone who caught his eye or had an interesting looking picnic.13-7-13 - Stratford_E and Zac by tree* 4B

The cousins had such a lovely time toddling about poking sticks into trees and collecting leaf, flower and feather treasure.

    What a lovely summery photo. I like the tree in the background, it really frames the shot. It’s been so nice to actually get some nice weather isn’t it? X

    Great summer memories. I love your family portrait and you’re so right – no need for a holiday this summer when the weather is this good x

    A little application of ice cream has really been the only way to get by in this heat but you all look so happy for such a hot day – here’s hoping for many more of them!

    Making the most of the gorgeous weather, there’s nothing quite like the shade of a beautiful tree on the hottest of days. So glad your pictures remind you of such a lovely family day!

Lunch served on a bed of allotment grown lettuce to make up for the distinct lack of a certain green ingredient from my Greek Salad (I can't really call it that anyway as I can't resist adding balsamic vinegar). #nipitinthebudblog #gloucesterlife

Fathers Day came and went with G having to work away for the day and me being busy with the boys at my parents. So I didn't get the chance to say what a brilliant, supportive and kind Father and husband G is. This is Luca at 4 days old snugged into his Dad's hoody when I was too ill with an infection to hold him We were cup feeding him expressed milk because he had a tongue tie and couldn't nurse. Hard times are always made easier with @musicalgeorgemoorey by my side. #nipitinthebudblog #coparentingdad #gloucesterlife
