celebrating baby’s 100th day

Luca 100 days 4B
Family day at one of our favourite walking spots, Crickley Hill on Luca’s 100th day.

In Chinese tradition family and friends celebrate a baby’s 100th day to represent the wish that the baby will live for 100 years. When E was born we celebrated with Chinese friends Jason and Lei who cooked us an amazing meal but Luca’s 100 day celebration has coincided with their summer trip to China so we’ll catch up with them when they’re back. Our two boys really are so alike!

Thank you Shaheen, they are such precious boys. L is so much like E that I’m finding it hard to imagine what he will look like when he’s bigger!

    Congratulations Lucca on 100 days.
Congratulations to all of you, you make a lovely looking family.
I was thinking a couple of nights ago how the timing is so right.
Euan has had time to be an adored only child, and now is ready
to share his life, space, Mum and Dad with a Brother.
Lucca will have his time as an adored only child (admittedly slightly
differently) while E is at Nursery/school.
Having brought up 4 under 4 E & L’s spacing gives them both so much benefit.

You are so right, the timing does feel perfect. E was so understanding through a challenging pregnancy and so helpful now. Wow, 4 under 4, I can’t imagine how you got through each day, not to mention the nights. Did you ever sleep? I bet you had some adventures too, some great stories to tell. Have you ever thought of starting a blog to share them?

Sleep defin felt like a rarity then 🙂 I’ve thought many times of blogging having had an unusual life but how to start seems such a hurdle.
Sorry your pregnancy was a challenge, how super though that E was able to be understanding. I think you def have at least one gentle, perceptive young man in the making.
I look forward to following the milestones in the lives of your two delightful boys. Lucy

think of it like chatting to a friend Lucy. The first post would probably be, ”I don’t really know what I’m going to talk about but hey a funny thing happened last week…” I like taking photos so most of my stories are a bit of background to a picture. It is a lovely way to archive memories :o)

Thanks Nicki, I appreciate your response, being a busy Mum to 2 it’s hard to find a minute for self 🙂
My probs start before this though, how do I even know who to blog with? Set up my page? I have looked at starter sites but get bogged down in info. I’d like to blog if only to help others. For one think I have a form of Demensia called demensia with Lewey Bodies, it’s not like Althzeimers and I’ve had it 19 years though only diagnosed Dec 2015.
Looking back it’s obvious now what was happening and I’d love to share my tips on living with it and show that the “D” word does not have to be the end of life as we know it.

Lunch served on a bed of allotment grown lettuce to make up for the distinct lack of a certain green ingredient from my Greek Salad (I can't really call it that anyway as I can't resist adding balsamic vinegar). #nipitinthebudblog #gloucesterlife

Fathers Day came and went with G having to work away for the day and me being busy with the boys at my parents. So I didn't get the chance to say what a brilliant, supportive and kind Father and husband G is. This is Luca at 4 days old snugged into his Dad's hoody when I was too ill with an infection to hold him We were cup feeding him expressed milk because he had a tongue tie and couldn't nurse. Hard times are always made easier with @musicalgeorgemoorey by my side. #nipitinthebudblog #coparentingdad #gloucesterlife

Day 16 of #30dayswild - reading nature stories at bedtime. One of E's favourites 'The winter hedgehog'.
